Iran
Back in the years 2006 and 2007, I managed a company where we decided to set-up an assembly production facility in Teheran, Iran. This meant a few trips to the capital of Iran. I unfortunately did not have time to see anything of this supposedly beautiful country filled with amazing architectural sites. The few shots are from a mobile phone hence the poor quality. There is a trip penciled in my travel-plans hopefully in the not so distant future. My main takeaway from these trips are the hard-working, dedicated and friendly people.

Chad (2017)
...second stop on this four-country Sahel journey. The only way to get to Chad from Central African Republic was with a stop-over and lunch in Douala and Cameroon. Apart from the capital, N´Djamena were we stayed, we also made visits to Gaoui an ancient village outside as well as a Central African Republic refugee camp. Many have fled the country due to the civil war there. After some careful deliberation we also decided to go up to lake Chad bordering to Nigeria and the stronghold of Boko Haram. We were accompanied by security staff and had also special documents approved to visit the area. We were of course stopped and harassed by the check-point security police. This time for having taken photographs illegally. I have by now lost count of the number of times we have been stopped for this. See travel report for further details.
