Iran
Back in the years 2006 and 2007, I managed a company where we decided to set-up an assembly production facility in Teheran, Iran. This meant a few trips to the capital of Iran. I unfortunately did not have time to see anything of this supposedly beautiful country filled with amazing architectural sites. The few shots are from a mobile phone hence the poor quality. There is a trip penciled in my travel-plans hopefully in the not so distant future. My main takeaway from these trips are the hard-working, dedicated and friendly people.

Oman and Salalah sounded like a good combination for total relaxation on the beach and a few excursions out into the dessert. and thats exactly what we got. The resorts are 5-star and all-inclusive, and maybe that is just as well as there are not many decent restaurants to chose from i Salalah. We took a two-day excursion into Rub-al-Kahli (Empty quarters) which stretches way into the kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well. We stayed over night in a bedouin camp and slept out in the open only with the stars above us. If you haven't visited real sand-dunes, you might not think much of it, but thats all wrong. The experience is out of this world. Few things compete with this experience in my book.
