Iran
Back in the years 2006 and 2007, I managed a company where we decided to set-up an assembly production facility in Teheran, Iran. This meant a few trips to the capital of Iran. I unfortunately did not have time to see anything of this supposedly beautiful country filled with amazing architectural sites. The few shots are from a mobile phone hence the poor quality. There is a trip penciled in my travel-plans hopefully in the not so distant future. My main takeaway from these trips are the hard-working, dedicated and friendly people.

Mauretania
Mauretania, was indeed a very positive surprise - if it only hadn't been for the fact that customs confiscated my bottle of Chablis which I had brought along in my luggage to enjoy on one of the sun-set evenings in the dessert. Mind you Mauretania is indeed a completely dry country when it comes to alcohol. That put aside, the dessert area around Chinguetti, Terjet, Tanouchert, Ouadane and many more exotic Oasises and villages spread out were magic to visit. I especially enjoyed the sun-set on the dunes in the dessert. I was also invited to have tea with the nomads as well as to have lunch with local Mauretanians in Ouadane. Such hospitality....
