Back in the years 2006 and 2007, I managed a company where we decided to set-up an assembly production facility in Teheran, Iran. This meant a few trips to the capital of Iran. I unfortunately did not have time to see anything of this supposedly beautiful country filled with amazing architectural sites. The few shots are from a mobile phone hence the poor quality. There is a trip penciled in my travel-plans hopefully in the not so distant future. My main takeaway from these trips are the hard-working, dedicated and friendly people.

French Guyana
French Guyana was the last of the three Guyanas for me to visit. It is also the only one of the three to remain a part of the colonizer. In this case France. Brittish Guyana is now just Guyana and a country of its own, as is Suriname, a former Dutch colony. This is possibly also a very costly, but important strategic decision by France to have a foothold in South-America. The cost of living is higher then that of France it self. I did however enjoy a weeks visit which included a trip to the KAW national park in the south as well as a stop at the Space center in Kourou. However, the visit out to the Islands of Salut was by far the visit which made a profound impression on me.
