Back in the years 2006 and 2007, I managed a company where we decided to set-up an assembly production facility in Teheran, Iran. This meant a few trips to the capital of Iran. I unfortunately did not have time to see anything of this supposedly beautiful country filled with amazing architectural sites. The few shots are from a mobile phone hence the poor quality. There is a trip penciled in my travel-plans hopefully in the not so distant future. My main takeaway from these trips are the hard-working, dedicated and friendly people.

Sri Lanka
During the fall, back in 2012, we decided to go to Sri Lanka. Usually the weather is quite OK during November / December, but this year we were hit with a typhoon. The one week on the beach was quickly traded in for other activities. We instead visited Yale National Park and were lucky to see leopards on two separate occasions among other wildlife. We also went up to Nureli mountains (Nuwara Eliya), where the British during colonial times settled during the hot months. The resembles more England than Sri Lanka with the english style cottages and the nature. This is also where the main tea plantations are located. Our land lord for the villa on the beach was kind to let us borrow his house up here for a couple of days. The trip ended with a couple of days in the capital - Colombo.
