Back in the years 2006 and 2007, I managed a company where we decided to set-up an assembly production facility in Teheran, Iran. This meant a few trips to the capital of Iran. I unfortunately did not have time to see anything of this supposedly beautiful country filled with amazing architectural sites. The few shots are from a mobile phone hence the poor quality. There is a trip penciled in my travel-plans hopefully in the not so distant future. My main takeaway from these trips are the hard-working, dedicated and friendly people.

Tuvalu is probably the most inaccessible country in the world. It is serf3ed by propeller planes only, which takes some three hours from Fiji. Only about 800 tourists visit the Island every year. I rented a scooter which is the easiest way really to get around the small Atoll nation. The Island is an atoll with a small road and water on both sides. In some parts it is not wider than some 30 meters. I spent half a day at the Conservation Islands (Foakea) in the outer rim of the Atolls. I rented a speedboat and captain to get out to these pristine and protected Islands - uninhabited of course and full of birds and turtles nesting. We also visited the small Island of Faunafalou with only 40 resident inhabitants. They even had their own chief whom I got to meet. Upon approaching and landing on the small airstrip, the captain had to abort landing as there were children playing on the runway. Where else in the world does this happen.
With a 4-day stop-over in Karachi, Pakistan, we only got a very short flavor of this bustling mega city. Huge pollution and overcrowded already back in 1990 when we made our short visit. Loved it however, and am now planning to come back for a more thorough visit to this 200 million country. We saw, during our short visit, a traditional cock-fight as well as the traditional fight between the Cobra and the Mungo. Again, these photos are only scanned copies of printed photos - hence the poor quality and slightly faded pictures.
