Iran
Back in the years 2006 and 2007, I managed a company where we decided to set-up an assembly production facility in Teheran, Iran. This meant a few trips to the capital of Iran. I unfortunately did not have time to see anything of this supposedly beautiful country filled with amazing architectural sites. The few shots are from a mobile phone hence the poor quality. There is a trip penciled in my travel-plans hopefully in the not so distant future. My main takeaway from these trips are the hard-working, dedicated and friendly people.

As part of a 5-country Indo-China round-trip - Laos - was of course in line after Thailand. We entered at the border-crossing of Chiang Khong and took a small boat across the river to enter into Laos. Here I had rented a "slow-boat" with crew who took us down the Mekong river for a couple of days. Wow, this is what I recommend to any person with a high stress level. Gliding down the river at a slow pace stopping only at small and rural villages was really nice. Highly recommended. We eventually arrived at Luang Prabang - the former capital and now listed as a world heritage of UNESCO. The food is however probably what made our visit extra memorable. Amazing, worth just the trip for this reason alone.
