Gabon

Coming through overland, we once more had to face the corrupt border officials wanting an additional 15 dollars per head to let us through. We early on had agreed not to pay any such extra fees, not wanting to encourage this type of behavior. This often (always) means delays and "waiting out the other party", but worth it. The country was great however. We covered most of the country overland and participated in Easter Mass, visited the famous Albert Schweitzer clinic and hospital - set up in the 1920-ies among other things. We also made a stop at the point of crossing the Equator.
