I had it all planned back in 2018 to visit Mazar-e Sharif with a few well-travelled friends. That was not to be, as my wife put in her veto against me travelling to Afghanistan at the time. I have since been following the developments since the Taliban took over back in august, 2021. It seems the situation has now stabilised and since the Talibans are not fighting the previous government or the Allied forces, things have now calmed down and they seems not to have an interest in going after the few foreign travellers who are now slowly starting to come back. I must say - we did feel safe at all times during our travel to the country now in October, 2022.
